Carlos Chavarria (Madrid, Spain)
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?  Everyday experiences, things I see, stories I hear…
What makes a good image to you?  I think it’s a combination of different aspects, sometimes it’s just about the subject itself, sometimes it’s the color harmony or the composition and other times it’s the combination of more than one image what makes something good. I don’t think there’s a formula to judge if an image is good or not, as it also depends a lot on the context that image is presented on.
What’s your most vivid childhood memory?  Family trips.
Your favourite film/movie and why?  Its hard to choose a favorite, I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries lately, the last one I really liked was one from 1996 called “Paradise Lost”.
Your favourite quote?  “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.”
What was the last interesting dream you remember?  I can’t really remember, sorry!
Your favourite photographer/artist? Joel Sternfeld was the photographer that impacted me the most when I started photographing  and I still find his work stunning like the first day I saw it.
If you had a superpower what would it be?  Teleportation.
Latest obsession?  Buying old pictures in thrift stores.
